6 hours, 8 hours and so on. These are the numbers that people believe to be the magic number for sleeping properly and leading a healthy life. Not so.
The magic number is really 7, the median for sleeping hours and the key towards leading a healthier life. This includes naps which should identify if you are at risk of aligning yourself in contracting a cardiovascular disease.
Sleeping fewer than five hours a day, including naps, more than doubles the risk of being diagnosed with angina, coronary heart disease, heart attack or stroke, the study conducted by researchers at West Virginia University’s (WVU) faculty of medicine.
